Really? That long?

Has it really been that long since I posted?

Well, the truth of the matter is that the school year still has 2 weeks left and I'm all overwhelmed and stuff with students.

Could be worse.

One year anniversary of end of chemo is in 4 days. Well, ain't that somethin'?

Glad to see you back but I'm kinda wondering--does the cancer blogging end when the treatments do? Because I'm thinking of packing mine in once it's all said and done...although I'll probably go back to blogging somewhere else (either my old a new one).

Anyhoo, best of luck with the end of school madness and if the husband and I ever make it back to SF (one of our fave places EVAR; we met in Monterey), I'm taking you our for cocktails plural.

Hi Megan,

Good to see that you are still with us. I can't help but comment on Sugarmouth's comment, as I have been struggling to blog a bit in the post-chemo part of my life (though I've yet to go a whole month without an entry). I think it has a little to do with the time commitments involved in a "real" life as well as the thought that people just don't want to spend as much time reading about what I am thinking about anymore (even though there is that "second shoe dropping" discussion that we had a couple of blog entries back).

But the living part of my life is pretty different now, and I am thinking about the colon cancer thing as much as I did when I was chemo-toxic. So I don't know. I still check your blog every day or two...

I think it is a bit of post-chemo effect. I don't really want to dwell in cancer-land any longer than I have to. It's certainly a chapter I want to leave behind. And, yes, regular life is getting in the way. No more lazy days, hooked up to my 5-FU pump with nothing to do but express my deepest thoughts to random passers-by.

Sugarmouth - I look forward to cocktails. Plural.

Long time no blog. Would love to chat so send your phone details to and I'll give you a call to hear all about your colon, your cat and your SUV!

Also it seems I've missed out on the whole buffy thing so I'm happy to be updated on that as well.
